By the 1960s, a new student joined the Oak Hill School, the deaf and blind.

As Oak Hill’s expertise expanded, it began to specialize in the care of children and adults with multiple disabilities. 

Our History 

Today, services include in home and community-based housing, birth to three and day services; community-based education and employment; assistive technology; healthy relationships; arts and recreation.

Training for Caregivers:

Oak Hill Professional Development  - comprehensive and on-going education and training for people who work with people who are deaf and hearing impaired; training in the community, including opportunities to earn CEU's, recertification and licensing.

NEAT Center at Oak Hill - comprehensive and on-going education and training for people who work with people who are deaf and hearing impaired; assisitve technology; training in the community, including opportunities to earn CEU's, recertification and licensing.

 

Lives Have Changed Because of Oak Hill

Erich Anderson-Krengel, a clinical social worker who happens to be hearing impaired, is volunteering his expertise in sign language and has improved communication skills with the deaf and hearing impaired at Oak Hill.
